….Decorates Him as Ambassador of World Peace

The Peace and Positive Living Awareness Centre (PEPOLAC), an Awka based Non-Governmental Organization recently honoured the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as an Ambassador of World Peace.
The Ex-CBN Boss was decorated during this year’s World Peace celebration, themed, Peaceful Coexistence: A Panacea For Sustainable Development held at Prof Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, Awka.
The coordinator, Rt Rev Dr Ozioma Ozoemena, International Coordinator (Nigeria) whose book , Imperative Coexistence, was also presented to the public at this occasion, said that the Ambassador for World Peace award given to Prof Soludo was in recognition of his roles in developing human capital, encouraging inclusiveness and gender sensitivity in his approach to leadership and his speeches, his role in eradicating poverty and support to education, especially to the girl child and youths, his personal excellence in growth and development and for the role he plays in promoting peace and value reorientation.
The event featured, among others, a Keynote Address by Prof C.C. Soludo and his subséquent investiture by the Organization to some distinguished individuals including, Hon. Sir Pete Ibida, member representing Njikoka II State Constituency, Hon. Chief Emeka Aforka, member representing Orumba North State Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly; Prof. Kate Omenugha, Commissioner for Basic Education, Anambra State and Chief Alex Onukwue, national president Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), among others.
Prof. Soludo spoke on the imperatives of Unity, Social Inclusion and Value reorientation as key ingredients of Sustainable World Peace.
Prof Soludo pledged to work hand in hand with the PEPOLAC to do more regarding peace development, inclusiveness and value reorientation. He enjoined all to join the mission of eradicating generational poverty through education, especially through his adoption model, saying that he had adopted a Pirmary School in Isuofia where he said he had funded their every single needs from teachers salaries to school fees, buildings, furnitures, uniforms, writing materials etc.
He thanked the Organizers for finding him worthy of honour and pledged to commit the rest of his useful days to the propagation of Peace around the world.
Highpoints of the occasion was adoption schools and children to sponsor right at the venue by those who were inspired Soludo did at a school in his hometown, Isuofia, award presentations and group photograph.
